Alphanumeric Pagers receive “text” messages composed of letters and numbers. Receiving text messages provides pager users with much more information than Numeric pagers, allowing them to decide if, and how soon they need to respond.

Numeric messages can be sent to Alphanumeric pagers just like Numeric pagers, by calling the pager phone number. Alphanumeric messages can be sent by several methods:

• Self-Dispatch
• Paging Softwares & Keyboards
• Internet Paging – via website or email
• Dispatch Services
• PIN Numbers (Maine only)
• Personal 800 Numbers (available in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont
  and Rhode Island)

Pagers programmed with Dispatch Services can also be accessed by all Self-Dispatch options.

PIN Numbers – (Maine only)
To send an Alphanumeric message to a Maine customer, call 1-800-498-0077. Callers enter the pager’s 4 digit PIN Number at the prompt, and leave a message after the tone. An operator then transcribes the message and sends it to the pager.

Personal 800 Numbers
To send an Alphanumeric message to customers who live outside of Maine, callers simply call the 800 Number assigned to the pager and dictate the message to an operator. The operator transcribes the message and sends it to the pager. Personal 800 Numbers include the following complimentary services:

 

• Personalized Greeting – operators answer calls as directed

• Caller ID - phone number of the caller is displayed with the message

• Email Delivery – a copy of all messages can be sent to an email address either as they are dispatched or at the end of each day. Fax delivery of messages is also available at an additional cost.

Additional Alphanumeric options:

• PagerMail - automatically forwards email dispatched pager
  messages to an email account. Allows paged messages to be
  verified and monitored from a computer.
  
  

• Email Notification - email messages can be forwarded to a
  pager depending on length desired.

  • BASIC includes "From Whom" & "Subject" and allows 100 Notifications per month.
    
  • SUPER includes "From Whom," "Subject" with first 120
    characters of email message and allows 100 Notifications
    per month.
    
  • DELUXE includes "From Whom," "Subject" with first 230 characters of email message and allows 100 Notifications
    per month.
